Sparkle and Star (Jody Brown & Mike Donaghy) have been making music together for nearly 20 years. Since meeting at music college in the early 2000’s, they have performed together in many groups and have embarked on their own musical journeys, touring the United States, Canada and Europe, sharing stages with many artists.

Jody studied music after leaving school and went on to achieve a degree in music (Bmus) from Queens University Belfast. Jody is an accomplished singer and trumpet player and has played in many different groups and features on a wide range of musical recordings. Jody is married and has a son and a daughter.

Mike studied Music and Performing Arts after leaving school and went on to achieve a Licentiate Diploma in Music Education from Trinity College London as well as studying Music Performance and a Music Therapy. Mike is a multi instrumentalist, playing instruments such as Guitar, Banjo, Ukulele, Bodhran, Whistle, Piano and percussion, all of which are featured in the Sparkle and Star stage shows. Mike is married and has two daughters.

Since having families of their own they have ventured in to the world of children’s music, writing and performing for children and their parents near and far!
